Brand to watch: Kreist

Eastern European fashion is having a next to unrivaled moment. The youthful aesthetic and non-conforming spirit that has come to distinguish the “East Bloc” pack has matured a little in three-season-old label Kreist. Founded by Polish Central Saint Martins graduate Krzysztof Strozyna, Kreist delivers well-crafted pieces merging retrospect Eastern European perceptions of glamour with the ordinary everyday. Ethically produced in Europe, the SS17 collection is an ode to American pop culture, influenced by Dolly Parton – an icon of American glamour in 90s Poland – and Miley Cyrus, an artist who, according to Strozyna, is conveying the same meaning today. Kreist’s way of aligning the much-coveted Eastern European aesthetic with function and ethical production makes the label stand out from the pack.
Brand to watch is our regular dispatch of standout upcoming labels merging ethics with aesthetics.
