Brand directory picks: FREITAG’s F-ABRIC

Bag remaker FREITAG’s biodegradable clothing range in this week's Brand directory picks.

Twenty years after the Freitag brothers first started making bags out of old truck tarpaulins, they have released a range of clothing for men and women based on ‘F-ABRIC’ the sustainable, European-made textile innovation. Crafted from hemp, flax and Modal, the non-toxic material is produced within a 2500 mile radius from the brand’s Zurich HQ, an impressively short journey compared to conventional fabrics which are often made out of components sourced from opposite ends of the world. With all parts including thread and selvage being 100% biodegradable, the garments can also be disposed of in household compost. The range is heavily influenced by workwear – a tight edit of gender and season-crossing pieces matching the rugged look of FREITAG’s main bag pursuit, we’ve already got our eyes on the denim bomber blouson.

The brand directory picks are our favourite pieces from the labels featured in the Sustainable Brand Index.
